Prompted by my colleague “P”, whose blog’s reading level has been rated as “Genius”, I tested the reading level of my own blog. The results:
Oh, how embarrassing. Clearly, my blog is “pedestrian” in more than one sense. Perhaps if I revised some posts to include more edumacated words…

Ha – flinging huge words around to disguise my ineptitude in mathematics garners another accolade! Personally, I prefer junior high school – the place where we started questioning authority and and cultivating our inner smart-asses. Fresher, funnier and ready for anything, I seem to recall.
Pedestrian,
I saw your link, so I tried it out on my blog. I won’t tell you my score, but let’s just say I was disappointed. So, I went to to my archive, and picked out one of my more “intellectual” posts, ran it again and moved up to high school. Apparently it rates whatever is on the page’s URL, not everything you’ve ever written.
So, I was happy to know I can write at a high school reading level, even if I don’t all the time.
Thanks for the link, and having me in your blogroll,
